Our story

When I had my first child, I was shocked by the challenges I faced as a new mother.

I'd like to say that I got help right away, but, like so many women, the shame of postpartum depression and anxiety kept me silent for nearly two years.

When I sought out further training and began working with postpartum clients myself, I was struck by how many stories were so similar to my own. A therapist who is qualified to treat maternal mental health conditions makes all the difference.

I founded Phoenix Health to make it easier for new mothers like me to find the right help.

Waiting often costs more than reaching out does.

Symptoms tend to settle faster when support starts early — and your family feels the difference too.

Client experiences

You're not the first. You won't be the last.

★★★★★

My emergency C-section left me with nightmares and panic attacks. I couldn't talk about the birth without shaking. Therapy helped me process the trauma and reclaim my story. I'm pregnant again now, and I actually feel ready.

I had intrusive thoughts that terrified me. I was too ashamed to tell anyone, even my partner. My therapist explained postpartum OCD and helped me understand I wasn't dangerous. The intrusive thoughts are 90% gone now. I wish I'd reached out sooner.

After three failed IVF rounds, I was told to just stay positive. My therapist was the first person who acknowledged the grief, the anger, and the exhaustion, and helped me process what I had been through. I finally felt seen.

Common questions

  • If you're asking yourself that question, it's enough. Most clients wish they'd reached out sooner. Therapy isn't only for crisis — it's for anyone whose daily life feels harder than it should. We'll meet you exactly where you are.
  • Every Phoenix Health therapist holds or is working toward PMH-C certification — the gold-standard credential from Postpartum Support International. This isn't a generalist who 'also does postpartum.' It's a specialist trained extensively for exactly what you're going through.
  • We're in-network with most major insurers including Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, and United Healthcare. Most clients pay only their copay. If you're not in a covered state, we'll provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement, and FSA/HSA payments are accepted.
  • Most clients notice a real difference within 2 to 3 sessions. Postpartum depression typically improves significantly within 8–12 weeks of treatment. You don't have to wait months to feel like yourself again.
  • We'll hear what you're going through, answer any questions you have, and make sure we're a great fit for your needs. There's no cost and no commitment — just a conversation to figure out next steps together.
