What inspired you to become a therapist?

My inspiration comes from a deep and genuine curiosity about people. I have always been fascinated by individual stories and motivated by the desire to help people live their best lives. With over 30 years of experience as a social worker, I can truly say that I enjoy the work that I do and am passionate about guiding clients on their journey.

What types of clients do you typically work with?

I have extensive experience working with women and families navigating the complexities of the perinatal period. This includes providing support for postpartum mood disorders, infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, and infant and child loss. My background also includes years of working with children, families, and adults in a variety of settings, allowing me to support clients through many of life's challenges.

How would you describe your approach to therapy?

My approach is built on the belief that every client is different, and therapy should reflect that. I am an empathetic, patient, and experienced therapist, and I find that people open up to me easily. Rather than adhering to a single modality, I get to know you first, and from there, we collaboratively figure out the best approach and methods to use in our work together.

What can a client expect from their first session with you?

You can expect a warm and welcoming conversation where you can feel at ease. The first session is our opportunity to get to know one another and for me to understand what brought you to therapy. It's a non-judgmental space for you to share your story, and from there, we can begin to explore how we can best work together to meet your goals.

If you could give one piece of advice to someone struggling with their mental health, what would it be?

My advice would be to allow yourself to be curious about your own story and your own needs. So often, we feel pressure to have all the answers, but there is immense power in simply exploring your experience with a trusted guide. This curiosity is the first step toward understanding, healing, and change.

What do you hope clients take away from their work with you?

I hope clients leave our work together feeling more empowered and equipped to live their best life, whatever that may look like for them. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your strengths, and your patterns. Ultimately, I want you to feel more confident in your ability to navigate life's challenges and find a greater sense of peace and fulfillment.

Is there anything else that you'd like to share?

I love the outdoors, animals, and gardening.
